Xu Shousheng,the Governor of Hunan Province,recently analyzed the situation faced by the construction machinery industry at the"Working Together to Achieve a New Leap Forward in Hunan Construction Machinery Industry"symposium held by the Hunan Provincial Government.He believed that although the construction machinery industry is facing severe challenges,there is still huge development space in the long run.
Construction machinery should actively respond to challenges
Xu Shousheng stated that currently,the international and domestic economic situation is complex and ever-changing,and the construction machinery industry is facing difficulties such as increased risks of global economic downturn,slowdown in global manufacturing development,increasing competition in high-end manufacturing fields both domestically and internationally,further increasing entry barriers for foreign products in many countries,and increasingly fierce competition in the domestic construction machinery market.From January to July,although the growth rate of production and sales of construction machinery in Hunan Province was over 60%,and the main economic indicators reached or approached the level of last year,there were already unfavorable signals such as a monthly decline in production and sales,a decline in subsequent orders,an increase in product inventory and accounts receivable in July and August.He demanded that the construction machinery industry in Hunan accurately assess the situation,maintain a clear understanding of possible difficulties and risks,strengthen development confidence,actively seize opportunities,properly respond to challenges,focus on promoting industrial structure adjustment and development mode transformation,and strive to achieve new breakthroughs.
There is still huge development space in the industry
Xu Shousheng made this judgment based on the following three factors.One is that the new round of technological revolution has brought opportunities for the transformation and structural adjustment of the construction machinery industry.Secondly,strong domestic investment demand has formed a long-term positive impact on the development of the construction machinery industry.During the 12th Five Year Plan period,investment demand across the country and in Hunan will continue to grow rapidly,and the driving force for economic growth will remain relatively strong.In 2010,China's urbanization rate was less than 48%.To catch up with the level of 80%in developed countries,economists estimate that it will take at least 30 years.How many business opportunities will the 30-year promotion of urbanization in China bring to the construction machinery industry?The trend of the world economy is attracting attention for two things:first,the business opportunities brought by China's rapid urbanization.The second is the new industrial revolution brought about by high-tech in the United States.From the perspective of China's railway planning,the operating mileage will reach 120000 kilometers by 2020,which is still less than 9 centimeters per person and less than 1/10 of the current average in the United States.At present,the density of roads per 100 square kilometers in China is only half of that in the United States.In addition,there is increased investment and key support for water conservancy construction;The construction of affordable housing in the real estate market has increased,and the rigid demand of the people to improve their living conditions has increased;In addition,power grid renovation and urban rail transit construction have formed long-term benefits for the development of the construction machinery industry.The development of the construction machinery industry has a solid foundation.Taking Hunan Province as an example,after years of development,the overall economic strength of the province has significantly increased.In 2010,the gross domestic product of Hunan Province reached 1.59 trillion yuan;Infrastructure such as transportation,logistics,customs clearance,and industrial parks have been significantly improved;The atmosphere of striving for and focusing on industry throughout the province is becoming increasingly strong,and the policy system for accelerating the development of new industrialization is constantly improving.At the same time,the construction machinery industry has made significant progress in independent innovation,capital operation,scale operation,agglomeration development,collaborative support,market development,especially talent cultivation,after achieving remarkable development during the 11th Five Year Plan period,accumulating rich experience for subsequent leapfrog development.
Transformation and upgrading are the main tasks
At present,among the seven strategic emerging industries in Hunan,the advanced equipment manufacturing industry ranks first,and among the advanced equipment manufacturing industry,the mid to high end construction machinery and equipment industry ranks first.Hunan is a national pilot zone for the reform of a two oriented society.In the future,it is impossible to develop an economy that consumes a large amount of resources and energy and pollutes the environment.We must take the path of green development,low-carbon development,and sustainable development.In this situation,the construction machinery industry should shoulder its historical responsibility,achieve the transition of the industry from"domestic demand oriented"to"international oriented",and from"scale growth oriented"to"core capability growth oriented",and make new contributions to the construction of"four modernizations and two types"in Hunan.
